Dining Dollar Program Change

Welcome back to campus.  We are so excited to have you back and look forward to this spring semester. Dining Services is excited to share that Superior Dining, Northern Shores Coffee and The Grind will be open to serve students.


We are contacting you today with an important announcement for your use of the Dining Dollars program for Spring Semester 2022.

 

  • We will allow Dining Dollars to roll over at the end of this academic year, and they will instead expire at the end of the Academic year 2022/23.
  • You may also opt out of your Dining Dollars for Spring Semester 2022. You will need to fill out the “Dining Dollars Opt Out” form in the Housing Portal (link below) by January 27, 2022, to opt out of the $200 in Dining Dollars. It may take up to a week to process all of our requests. Please do not expect to see a change to your account before February 3, 2022. 
    • If you have already spent a portion of your Dining Dollars program for Spring Semester 2022, don’t worry, you could still receive a partial refund. Dining Dollars will be refunded in increments of $50, up to $200.  For example: if you spent $12 of your $200 Dining Dollars for Spring Semester 2022 you would be refunded $150 and there would be a balance of $38 Dining Dollars remaining.

Housing Portal

Providing a high-quality dining experience to our campus community is a top priority for UMD Dining. This commitment is especially true for our residential students, who rely on residence hall dining centers as their primary source of nutrition. For this reason, we have prioritized staffing in residential locations first, followed by the most in-demand retail locations. As a result, Superior Dining is fully operational and open from 7 am - 9 pm.

 

We are doing everything we can to open more dining facilities. Recruiting is a priority.  We need to fill more than 15 open full-time positions and more than 150 student positions so you can take full advantage of all of our dining facilities. We recently raised our student wage in Dining Services to $13.25 and welcome you to apply. With your help in building our staff, we will open more areas.
