Camps & Conferences

The UMD Dining Services team is excited to work with you to coordinate meals for all of your camps and conference needs.

UMD Dining Services offers catering, quick bites to-go, and traditional meals on campus. Enjoy:

  • All-you-can-eat at the Superior Dining Hall
  • Crafted meals by Fresh Leaf Catering
  • Specialty concepts in the Food Court and Northern Shores Coffee Shop.

Your contract can include meals, snacks, beverages, or take-out options.

Nutrition and allergy info are available at all locations. Special requests and dietary needs can be accommodated by contacting your event coordinator.

Options for Camp Meals, Locations, & Ordering Guidelines


Superior Dining Center

Open: May 30- August 6, 2023

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 10:30am - 2:30pm

Beginning August 7-20 2023

  • Hours: Open Daily, 8 am - 6:30 pm

Beginning August 21, 2023

  • Hours: Open Daily, 7 am - 9 pm


  • Breakfast: Minimum of 30 guest count to open for groups.
  • Lunch: No minimum guest count* The last entry time is at 1:30pm*. *Non- negotiable.
  • Dinner: Minimum of 100 guest count for groups. *The last entry time is 6:30pm with a  7:30pm exit time. *Non negotiable*.
  • Weekends & Evenings: Superior Dining will accommodate groups of 100 or more for each meal OR we will accommodate groups that commit to 2 meals for the same day of 50 guests each. (50 guests for breakfast & 50 guests for lunch OR 50 guests for lunch & 50 guests for dinner- *No exceptions). Upon booking, inquire for special dining hours.

Minimums & Final Counts


  • 3 Weeks Minimum Advance notice for groups of 10 or more to schedule staffing. *Non-negotiable.
  • You must follow the dining time given to you when booking your group for meals.
  • 72 Business Hours Advance notice for final counts *Final counts must meet minimums or you must pay for the difference.
  • If you need to change your dining time you must notify us immediately to ensure seating.

Cancellation Policy

Conferences and Camps canceled 7 to 30 days prior to the event will be charged a fee of 25% of final costs. Cancellations from 0-6 days from the event will be billed 100% of the final cost.

Regular Pricing 2023 

  • Breakfast: $9 
  • Lunch: $10.50
  • Dinner: $11.50

2023 Group Pricing

  • Breakfast: $7.50
  • Lunch: $8.50
  • Dinner: $9.50

*To qualify for group rates you must be an internal group of 10 or more, have a reservation booked and confirmed, and provide us with a University of Minnesota EFS number at the time of booking.

    • Personal and Business checks accepted, including driver’s license number or UMD id# AND phone number or UMD phone extension.
  • EFS Department Charge
    • For internal group use.
  • Invoiced Billing
    • Provide us with billing information including, full name, address, phone number, and email address.

Extended Stay Only - Block Meal Plans: 10 Meals (including tax) for $100.00. Can be used at the Food Court, Northern Shores, and Superior Dining. Inquire upon booking for your group. *Not eligible for group pricing.

Room Reservation Options

  • Kirby Student Center Room Reservations and requests for media equipment, tables, garbage, etc. are handled by Kirby Student Center Reservations. Please visit their website for more information.
