Josie Beahler

Sous Chef

 

Josie Beahler joined UMD Dining Services in January 2025 as a Sous Chef in Superior Dining. Before bringing her talents to UMD, she honed her culinary skills at Alto Pino in Duluth after relocating with her husband in October 2024. Prior to that, she worked at The Bungalow Club in Minneapolis, gaining experience in high-quality, ingredient-driven cuisine.

Josie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in German and Economics from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. While her academic background is diverse, her passion for food has been a constant throughout her career.

Outside the kitchen, Josie enjoys cooking and baking (even when she’s off the clock), knitting intricate Norwegian Selbu mittens, listening to Russian classical music, and spending time outdoors. She thrives in the collaborative environment at UMD Dining and loves being part of a team that values creativity and teamwork in the culinary world.
