Sous Chef
Justine Bickel joined UMD Dining Services as a Sous Chef in August 2025, bringing more than 20 years of culinary experience from restaurants and catering businesses throughout the Duluth area, including MidCoast Catering, Northland Country Club, Zeitgeist, and Restaurant 301.
One of Justine’s favorite parts of working at UMD is connecting with students, learning about their interests and aspirations, and being a supportive presence in their lives.
Outside of work, Justine enjoys gardening, kayaking with her son, spending time with her two daughters, and sharing her love of music through playing piano and singing with local bands.
