Beat Menu Fatigue at Superior Dining

At Superior Dining, we understand that our dining services are a big part of your daily routine, providing meals and snacks as you juggle classes, activities, and everything in between. While we offer a rotating menu that repeats every four weeks, it’s not uncommon to feel like there’s “nothing to eat,” especially if you’re dining with us multiple times a day. If you or a parent has ever filled up the fridge at home only to hear, “There’s nothing to eat in this house,” you know the feeling—we get it!

This time of year, many students experience menu fatigue. It’s completely natural, especially when familiar comfort foods become the go-to choice. But don’t worry! We’ve got some fun suggestions to help you shake things up and rediscover the excitement in your dining experience.

Here are a few ideas to explore:

  1. Use Dining Dollars for Variety
Now’s a great time to consider adding more Dining Dollars to your U Card. You can easily reload your account using the GET app, or if you’re a parent, you can surprise your student by adding Dining Dollars for them! Just click here and provide their name and student ID number. Plus, any unused Dining Dollars from this fall semester will roll over to next spring, so you can save them for later. Places like the Food Court and The Gadget offer meal options that are perfect for mixing up your daily routine.
  2. Get Creative with Customizable Stations
Our customizable stations allow for a lot of creativity in your meals. For instance, if mac and cheese is on the menu, you can grab fresh broccoli from the salad bar and ask the Mongolian Grill Chef to sauté it for an extra flavor boost. Try adding pesto from the sandwich bar to your pasta or grilled veggies for a delicious twist. On Taco Tuesdays, use lettuce and grains from the salad bar as a base to build your own taco salads, blending different stations into one exciting dish. With so many customizable ingredients, the possibilities are endless!
  3. Explore the Sandwich and Salad Bars
Our salad and sandwich bars offer endless opportunities, especially with the panini maker! Get creative by building a unique sandwich or grilled creation using a variety of fresh deli meats, vegetables, and sauces. Feeling adventurous? On falafel day, try adding tzatziki to your sandwich for a fresh Mediterranean-inspired twist. The combinations are limitless, making it a great way to mix things up and try new flavors!
  4. Don’t Just Stick to Pizza
Pizza is a favorite, but there are many adventurous options to explore! The Sauté station often features creative dishes like ramen, pho, pork belly lettuce wraps, or seared paneer with hot pepper bacon jam. Since it’s an all-you-care-to-eat station, you can try new things without any risk!

By thinking outside the box, you can beat menu fatigue and explore the delicious variety available at Superior Dining. Enjoy your meals and happy dining!
