Ron McGinley is a passionate and driven Lead Manager for Fresh Leaf Catering at UMD Dining Services. He joined the team in July 2023, bringing over 24 years of experience in the food service industry. Before joining UMD Dining, Ron worked as a Food Service Director with Aramark for 10 years at various institutions such as Michigan Tech University, Viterbo University, Bemidji State University, Northwest Tech, and Loyola University in Chicago. He also spent 4 years as a Food Service Director with Pioneer College Caterers at Indiana Wesleyan University, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Boyce College. In addition, Ron served as the Dining Services Assistant Manager at Miami University in Ohio for 10 years.
Throughout his career, Ron has received numerous awards for his exceptional leadership and dedication to the food service industry. These include the Community Pillar Award from ASO at Michigan Tech, Servant Leadership Award and Pax et Bonum Award from Viterbo University, and the Hospitality Enablement Award from Aramark Central Region.
When he's not working, Ron enjoys spending his time hiking, camping, and visiting his granddaughters in Ohio. However, his passion for collegiate dining and the vision of UMD Dining Services keep him motivated and excited to come to work each day. He loves being a part of such a dynamic team that strives for excellence and he looks forward to seeing where UMD Dining Services will go in the future.
